Human Resources Sub-committee
The Human Resources Sub-committee acts as a forum for exchange of 'best practice' in HR Policies and procedures while ensuring that there is no breach of Anti-competitiveness considerations.
The objectives of the Human Resources Sub-committee are to:
Represent the views and opinions of Sub-committee members to the WSCA Board on matters pertaining to UK Oil and Gas Industry-wide HR issues.
Arrive at common proposals for action for WSCA Member Companies where appropriate.
Represent WSCA on other HR Working groups and Committees where active lobbying on behalf of the Well Services Sector is required.
Share as much information as possible which will add value to the group.
Activity
1. The current area of major interest is the implementation offshore of the Working Time Directive and the current proposals to amend the Directive. The major areas of concern are the proposed discontinuation of the Opt -out and the treatment of On-call time as working time, even when the individual may not be working.
WSCA are represented on the Industry work group making representation to the DPTI for clarification of the requirements and the continuation of the Opt-out and for time not to be regarded as working time unless actual work is being done.
